Our story

Sun-City is above all about “Fashion for Humanity”: licensed fashion for everyone, everywhere! A key player in the licensed fashion market since 1986, Sun-City has built up a catalogue covering all segments of the textile market. The Sun-City group’s success is based on 3 key factors: its flexible, efficient and fast team, the design of its products in line with the latest fashion trends and, lastly, the specific feature that makes it unique in Europe, its permanent stock to satisfy its customers’ needs 365 days a year. Michel Benchetrit founded CIE (a company specialising in men’s sportswear) in 1986, and was soon joined by his brother Henri to consolidate the business. In 1989, after meeting Daniel Zaouï from the AB Productions group, the company embarked on a licensing adventure, developing collections featuring Boys Band and Mangas for children. In 2000, the merger with DND Trading (David and Daniel Taieb), one of its main suppliers and a specialist in the Asian market, gave the company access to world-famous licences such as Disney. CIE DND then became Sun-City, and since then has enjoyed success, becoming one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of textile by-products.

The style department develops more than 5,000 models a year, with teams in France and Asia working closely together. Its ability to adapt to changing trends and its market expertise make Sun-City one of Europe’s leading players, recognised for its responsiveness and the quality of its collections. Sun City’s work has been rewarded with a Disney Fashion Award!

All the teams that make up Sun City in Asia are experts in textile manufacturing and work closely with local factories.

All these factories comply with Sun-City’s Vendor Manual, which includes a Social Compliance policy. Some of them are selected to undergo a more in-depth audit by independent international bodies (ITS, SGS, Bureau Veritas, etc.).

The marketing department implements comprehensive 360° marketing plans, orchestrating hard-hitting commercial activations. Through thoughtful strategy and targeted communication, our team crafts unique experiences for our customers. The marketing team works closely with a team of graphic designers dedicated to designing visual media, ensuring a strong and memorable visual identity.

Our expertise enables us to co-construct nationwide operations with our customers.

Sun-City makes it a point of honour to comply with European standards in terms of product quality, working conditions and respect for the environment.

Sun-City signed the REACH certificate of conformity (relating to chemical products) in 2008. Product quality is ensured by meticulous selection of the best factories that comply with current European standards (Oeko Tex or audit-approved). To meet these high quality standards, Sun-City has been operating in Asia since 1994 (in Shanghai, China and Dhaka, Bangladesh).

To maintain the same high level of quality, these factories are audited every year.

Sun-City works with the main French and European logistics operators, who load the prepared goods directly onto the 27 loading bays of its warehouses on a daily basis.

The IT processing of the order flow is entrusted to a high-performance system (Oracle ERP) that shares the same information with all the company’s players and connected customers.

Transactions are monitored in real time.
